The Unbearable Lightness of Being is a 1984 novel by Milan Kundera, about two women, two men, a dog and their lives in the 1968 Prague Spring period of Czechoslovak history.

It was probably one of the most memorable reads of my teenage life. This book is like a dream that will make you question your morality, sexuality and general existence while keeping you entertained the whole time. Take a notebook and a pen with you and sit on a train.

“Anyone whose goal is 'something higher' must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”

Used, but in good condition.
