Published by Jonathan Cape in the UK in 1982, just three years before her now world famous dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale , True Stories was at the time Margaret Atwood's ninth poetry collection. These poems address Atwood's views on human rights in developing countries, and question whether poetry can be borne from disaster. This edition was originally produced with a shrink wrap seal, which is perhaps why it has remained in such good condition. Gemma's favourite is on page 29.
